How would you pronounce “Ghoti”? Like a “goatee”, the beard?
Then you’d be wrong.
Obviously, it’s pronounced like “fish”.

Gh = the “gh” in “laugh” (f-sound)
O = the “o” in “women” (i-sound)
Ti = the “ti” in “nation” (sh-sound).Ghoti = fish.
